  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to Medicaid services; providing

  3         coverage for certain organ-transplant services;

  4         providing an effective date.

  6  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  7

  8         Section 1.  Subject to the availability of funds and

  9  subject to any limitations or directions provided for in the

10  General Appropriations Act or chapter 216, Florida Statutes,

11  the Agency for Health Care Administration Medicaid program

12  shall pay for medically necessary organ transplant services

13  for any recipient who has progressive lung disease that

14  developed before the recipient was 21 years old.

15         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2002.

18                          SENATE SUMMARY

19    Provides that, subject to the availability of funds, the
      Agency for Health Care Administration Medicaid program
20    shall pay for organ transplant services for a recipient
      who has progressive lung disease that developed before
21    age 21.
