  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to special assessments;

  3         creating ss. 125.0168 and 166.223, F.S.;

  4         providing the method for the levy of

  5         assessments by counties and municipalities on

  6         mobile home parks, lodging parks, recreational

  7         vehicle parks, or recreational camps; providing

  8         an effective date.

10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11

12         Section 1.  Section 125.0168, Florida Statutes, is

13  created to read:

14         125.0168  Assessments levied on facilities regulated

15  under chapter 513.--When a county levies an assessment on a

16  facility regulated under chapter 513, the assessment shall not

17  be based on the assertion that the facility is comprised of

18  residential units. Instead, facilities regulated under chapter

19  513 shall be assessed in the same manner as a hotel, motel, or

20  other similar facility.

21         Section 2.  Section 166.223, Florida Statutes, is

22  created to read:

23         166.223  Assessments levied on facilities regulated

24  under chapter 513.--When a municipality levies an assessment

25  on a facility regulated under chapter 513, the assessment

26  shall not be based on the assertion that the facility is

27  comprised of residential units. Instead, facilities regulated

28  under chapter 513 shall be assessed in the same manner as a

29  hotel, motel, or other similar facility.

30         Section 3.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

31  law.
