11  The Fiscal Responsibility Council offered the following:

13         Amendment (with title amendment) 

14         On page 13, line 10 of the bill

15

16  insert:

17         Section 10.  Subsection (2) of section 218.36, Florida

18  Statutes, is amended to read:

19         218.36  County officers; record and report of fees and

20  disposition of same.--

21         (2)  Effective October 1, 2002, on or before the date

22  for filing the annual report, each county officer the tax

23  collector, the sheriff, the supervisor of elections and the

24  property appraiser shall pay into the county general fund all

25  money in excess of the sum to which he or she is entitled

26  under the provisions of chapter 145. Whenever a tax collector

27  has money in excess, he or she shall distribute the excess to

28  each governmental unit in the same proportion as the fees paid

29  by the governmental unit bear to the total fee income of his

30  or her office.  Any excess held by a property appraiser shall

31  be divided into parts for each governmental unit which was

  1  billed and which paid for the operation of the property

  2  appraiser's office in the same proportion as the governmental

  3  units were originally billed.  Such part shall be an advance

  4  on the current year's bill, if any.

12         amending s. 218.36, F.S.; requiring only tax

13         collectors, sheriffs, supervisors of elections,

15         into the county general fund;
