  2         An act relating to trust funds; re-creating the

  3         Juvenile Welfare Trust Fund within the

  4         Department of Juvenile Justice without

  5         modification; carrying forward current balances

  6         and continuing current sources and uses

  7         thereof; repealing s. 985.4041(3), F.S.,

  8         relating to termination and review of the trust

  9         fund, to conform; providing an effective date.

11         WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of

12  the Juvenile Welfare Trust Fund within the Department of

13  Juvenile Justice, which is otherwise scheduled to be

14  terminated pursuant to law, and

15         WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the trust fund

16  before its scheduled termination date and has found that it

17  continues to meet an important public purpose, and

18         WHEREAS, the Legislature has found that existing public

19  policy concerning the trust fund sets adequate parameters for

20  its use, NOW, THEREFORE,

22  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

23

24         Section 1.  (1)  The Juvenile Welfare Trust Fund within

25  the Department of Juvenile Justice, which has no FLAIR number

26  and which is to be terminated on July 1, 2002, pursuant to

27  section 985.4041(3), Florida Statutes, in accordance with

28  Section 19(f), Article III of the State Constitution, is

29  re-created.

  1         (2)  All current balances of the trust fund are carried

  2  forward, and all current sources and uses of the trust fund

  3  are continued.

  4         Section 2.  Subsection (3) of section 985.4041, Florida

  5  Statutes, is repealed.

  6         Section 3.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2002.
