Explanation:
Prioritizes school readiness slots coming available in FY 02-03 to
financially eligible 4-year old children as the next greatest priority to
receive funding after TANF eligible children are served.

DELETE the following proviso after Specific Appropriation 2235:

From  funds  in Specfic Appropriation 2235, and pursuant to sections 407
and  409  of  Public  Law 104-193 and section 411.01(12), F.S., children
from  families  that  are  receiving  temporary  cash assistance and are
subject  to federal work participation requirements, shall receive child
care  services  prior  to such services being provided to other children
eligible for services under section 411.01(6), F.S.

and insert in lieu thereof:

From  funds  in Specific Appropriation 2235, and pursuant to sections
407 and  409  of  Public  Law 104-193 and section 411.01(12), F.S.,

children from  families  that  are  receiving  temporary  cash
assistance and are subject  to federal work participation requirements,
shall receive school readiness services  prior  to such services being
provided to other children eligible for services under section
411.01(6), F.S.   As school readiness slots become available, the next
priority shall be given to 4-year old children from families that meet
the financial eligibility requirements of section 411.01(6), F.S. 

 

Line item amendments are accepted as part of the amendatory process. However, due to the necessity of using computerized systems this may entail a different placement within a budget entity or the renumbering of the specific appropriation items.
