14 On page 73, between lines 10 and 11 of the bill

16 insert:
17 Section 24. The amendments to s. 440.49(9)(b) and s.
18 440.51(2), Florida Statutes, as set forth in Chapter 2000-150,
19 Laws of Florida, shall apply prospectively from January 1,
20 2001 regardless of the date such assessments were collected.
21 Such assessments which were paid, including carriers who filed
22 refund requests to recover the ceded reinsurance premiums paid
23 in their assessment, shall be paid refunds by not later than
24 July 1, 2002.
