  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the Transportation

  3         Disadvantaged Program; amending s. 343.64,

  4         F.S.; prohibiting the Central Florida Regional

  5         Transportation Authority from serving as a

  6         community transportation coordinator; requiring

  7         the Commission for the Transportation

  8         Disadvantaged to evaluate performance of the

  9         authority as a community transportation

10         coordinator; requiring a report to the

11         Legislature; providing for the authority to

12         continue as a community transportation

13         coordinator upon certain findings by the

14         Legislature; repealing section 1, SB 100, 2002

15         Regular Session, relating to the authority

16         acting as a community transportation

17         coordinator; providing an effective date.

19  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

20  

21         Section 1.  Subsection (7) is added to section 343.64,

22  Florida Statutes, to read:

23         343.64  Powers and duties.--

24         (7)  Notwithstanding any provision of law to the

25  contrary, the authority may not serve as a community

26  transportation coordinator pursuant to the provisions of

27  chapter 427, after June 30, 2003, unless the Legislature finds

28  that the authority is in compliance with the standards set

29  forth in rule 41-2.006(4), Florida Administrative Code.

30         Section 2.  The Commission for the Transportation

31  Disadvantaged shall evaluate the performance of the Central

 1  Florida Regional Transportation Authority as a community

 2  transportation coordinator in accordance with rule

 3  41-2.006(4), Florida Administrative Code, and provide a report

 4  of the evaluation to the President of the Senate and the

 5  Speaker of the House of Representatives no later than February

 6  1, 2003.

 7         Section 3.  Section 1 of Senate Bill 100, 2002 Regular

 8  Session, is repealed.

 9         Section 4.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

10  law.
