  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the Transportation

  3         Disadvantaged Program; amending s. 343.64,

  4         F.S.; prohibiting the Central Florida Regional

  5         Transportation Authority from serving as a

  6         community transportation coordinator; requiring

  7         the Commission for the Transportation

  8         Disadvantaged to evaluate performance of the

  9         authority as a community transportation

10         coordinator; requiring a report to the

11         Legislature; repealing section 1, SB 100, 2002

12         Regular Session, relating to the authority

13         acting as a community transportation authority;

14         providing an effective date.

16  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

17  

18         Section 1.  Subsection (7) is added to section 343.64,

19  Florida Statutes, to read:

20         343.64  Powers and duties.--

21         (7)  Notwithstanding any provision of law to the

22  contrary, the authority may not serve as a community

23  transportation coordinator pursuant to the provisions of

24  chapter 427, after June 30, 2003.

25         Section 2.  The Commission for the Transportation

26  Disadvantaged shall evaluate the performance of the Central

27  Florida Regional Transportation Authority as a community

28  transportation coordinator and provide a report of the

29  evaluation to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of

30  the House of Representatives no later than February 1, 2003.

 1         Section 3.  Section 1 of Senate Bill 100, 2002 Regular

 2  Session, is repealed.

 3         Section 4.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

 4  law.
