1	A bill to be entitled
2	An act relating to bridge designations; dedicating the new
3	Rose Bay bridges between the Cities of New Smyrna Beach
4	and Port Orange to honor U.S. military POW's and MIA's;
5	directing the Department of Transportation to erect
6	suitable markers; providing an effective date.

8	WHEREAS, the State of Florida, through the Florida
9	Department of Transportation, is currently reconstructing or
10	building three bridges on U.S. Highway 1, between the Cities of
11	New Smyrna Beach and Port Orange, and
12	WHEREAS, the Cities of New Smyrna Beach and Port Orange
13	have passed resolutions urging the State of Florida to dedicate
14	these new bridges in honor of United States military personnel
15	who are prisoners of war (POW's) or who are missing in action
16	(MIA's), and
17	WHEREAS, the Volusia County Metropolitan Planning
18	Organization believes that it is appropriate to so dedicate the
19	new Rose Bay bridges and supports the Cities of New Smyrna Beach
20	and Port Orange in their efforts to do so, NOW, THEREFORE,
21
22	Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

24	Section 1.The new Rose Bay bridges on U.S. Highway 1,
25	between the Cities of New Smyrna Beach and Port Orange, are
26	dedicated in honor of United States military personnel who are
27	prisoners of war (POW's) or who are missing in action (MIA's).
28	Section 2.The Department of Transportation is directed to
29	erect suitable markers designating the dedication in honor of
30	POW's and MIA's.
31	Section 3. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
