15	Between lines 304 and 305, insert:
16	Section 6. Subsection (5) of section 373.079, Florida
17	Statutes, is amended to read:
18	373.079 Members of governing board; oath of office;
19	staff.--
20	(5) The executive directorgoverning boardmay employ a
21	legal staff for the purposes of:
22	(a) Providing legal counsel to the governing board on
23	matters relating to the exercise of its powers and duties and to
24	the executive director and district staff on matters relating to
25	the day-to-day operations of the district;
26	(b) Representing the districtitin all proceedings of an
27	administrative or judicial nature; and
28	(c) Otherwise assisting in the administration of the
29	provisions of this chapter.

31	Attorneys employed by the governing boarddistrictmust
32	represent the legal interest or position of the governing board.
