  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to independent living

  3         transition services; amending s. 409.1451,

  4         F.S.; providing that property acquired on

  5         behalf of a client receiving independent living

  6         transition services is the property of the

  7         client; providing an effective date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11         Section 1.  Present subsection (8) of section 409.1451,

12  Florida Statutes, is redesignated as subsection (9), and a new

13  subsection (8) is added to that section to read:

14         409.1451  Independent living transition services.--

15         (8)  PROPERTY ACQUIRED ON BEHALF OF CLIENTS.--Property

16  acquired on behalf of a client receiving services under this

17  section shall be the personal property of the client and is

18  not subject to the requirements of chapter 273 relating to

19  state-owned tangible personal property.

20         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

21  law.

24                          SENATE SUMMARY

25    Provides that property acquired on behalf of a client
      receiving independent living transition services is the
26    property of the client and is not subject to requirements
      governing state-owned property.
