13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
14         On page 2, lines 5-13, delete those lines
15  
16  and insert:  
17         501.165  Obtaining personal information for commercial
18  solicitation; exemption.--
19         (1)  Any person who uses deceptive practices or means
20  to obtain another person's address, telephone number, or
21  social security number and uses it to engage in commercial
22  solicitation, or provides it to another person for purposes of
23  commercial solicitation, commits an unfair or deceptive act or
24  practice or unfair method of competition in violation of part
25  II of this chapter, and is subject to the penalties and
26  remedies provided for such violation, in addition to remedies
27  otherwise available for such conduct.
28         (2)  Unless otherwise ordered by a court or commission
29  of competent jurisdiction, local exchange telecommunications
30  company customer information is exempt from this section.
