1	House Memorial
2	A memorial to the Congress of the United States, urging
3	Congress to provide for the conveyance of the National
4	Forest System lands underlying the George Kirkpatrick Dam
5	on the Oklawaha River near Palatka, Florida, and related
6	lands to the State of Florida.

8	WHEREAS, through the Water Resources Act of 1990, the
9	United States Congress deauthorized the Cross Florida Barge
10	Canal project located between the Gulf of Mexico and the
11	Atlantic Ocean, and
12	WHEREAS, said act also transferred to the State of Florida
13	all lands and interest in lands acquired and facilities
14	completed for the project, and
15	WHEREAS, the State of Florida has established and
16	maintained a greenway corridor which is open to the public for
17	compatible recreation and conservation activities, and
18	WHEREAS, in order to continue these efforts it has become
19	necessary to consolidate and collect these lands, NOW,
20	THEREFORE,

22	Be It Resolved by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

24	That the Congress of the United States is requested to
25	provide for the conveyance of the National Forest System lands
26	underlying the George Kirkpatrick Dam on the Oklawaha River near
27	Palatka, Florida, and the National Forest System lands lying
28	below the 21 feet National Geodetic Vertical Datum (NGVD)
29	underlying the Rodman Reservoir formed by such dam and National
30	Forest Service Tract #C-615 to the State of Florida.
31	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be
32	dispatched to the President of the United States, the President
33	of the United States Senate, to the Speaker of the United States
34	House of Representatives, and to each member of the Florida
35	delegation to the United States Congress.
