  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to boating safety; amending s.

  3         327.395, F.S.; providing for a self-study

  4         manual by the Fish and Wildlife Conservation

  5         Commission for counties that do not have access

  6         to a boating safety instruction course

  7         instituted by the commission; providing an

  8         effective date.

10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11  

12         Section 1.  Subsection (9) of section 327.395, Florida

13  Statutes, is amended to read:

14         327.395  Boating safety identification cards.--

15         (9)  The commission shall institute and coordinate a

16  statewide program of boating safety instruction and

17  certification to ensure that boating courses and examinations

18  are available in each county of the state. In each county

19  without access to a boating instruction course, the commission

20  may provide a self-study manual for use in meeting the

21  requirements for completing a boater education course.

22         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

23  law.
