11  Senators Villalobos and Garcia moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
14         On page 86, line 31,
15  
16  insert:  
17         Section 62.  The Department of Health, in consultation
18  with the Miami-Dade Community College Physician Assistant
19  Program, the University of Florida Physician Assistant
20  Program, the Nova Southeastern University Physician Assistant
21  Program, and the Barry University Physician Assistant Program,
22  shall conduct a study to establish the most advantageous
23  methods to utilize the medical skills of foreign-trained
24  physicians to practice as physician assistants in this state.
25  Such joint study shall indicate:
26         (1)  The existing pathways or methods for a
27  foreign-trained physician to receive a license to practice as
28  a physician assistant in Florida;
29         (2)  National standards, national examinations, and
30  credentialing requirements for a foreign-trained physician to
31  be licensed to practice as a physician assistant in other
