14 On page 86, line 31,

16 insert:
17 Section 62. The Department of Health, in consultation
18 with the Miami-Dade Community College Physician Assistant
19 Program, the University of Florida Physician Assistant
20 Program, the Nova Southeastern University Physician Assistant
21 Program, and the Barry University Physician Assistant Program,
22 shall conduct a study to establish the most advantageous
23 methods to utilize the medical skills of foreign-trained
24 physicians to practice as physician assistants in this state.
25 Such joint study shall indicate:
26 (1) The existing pathways or methods for a
27 foreign-trained physician to receive a license to practice as
28 a physician assistant in Florida;
29 (2) National standards, national examinations, and
30 credentialing requirements for a foreign-trained physician to
31 be licensed to practice as a physician assistant in other

1 states in the United States;
2 (3) Training, education requirements, remedial
3 courses, and supervisory needs of a foreign-trained physician
4 desiring to become eligible to practice as a physician
5 assistant;
6 (4) The scope of practice of a foreign-trained
7 physician assistant; and
8 (5) Any other areas of study that the department and
9 educational institutions deem appropriate to further the
10 intent of this section.

12 Such study shall be presented to the Governor, the President
13 of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives
14 no later than January 1, 2004.

23 insert:
24 requiring the Department of Health, in
