11  Senator Saunders moved the following amendment to amendment

14         Senate Amendment 
15         On page 4, between lines 2 and 3,
16  
17  insert:  
18         (c)1.  A health care practitioner, as defined in s.
19  456.001(4), who is in a hospital attending to his or her own
20  patient or for other business or personal reasons, and who
21  voluntarily provides care or treatment to a patient other than
22  his or her own in an emergency situation when such care is not
23  liable for civil damages that result from an act or omission
24  related to that care or treatment, unless that care or
25  treatment amounts to willful and wanton conduct that would
26  likely result in injury that affects the life or health or
27  another.
28         2.  Such immunity does not apply to damages that result
29  from an act or omission in providing medical care or treatment
30  unrelated to the original situation that demanded immediate
31  medical attention.
