2	A bill to be entitled
3	An act relating to service of process against the Florida
4	Automobile Joint Underwriting Association; amending s.
5	627.311, F.S.; specifying that the Florida Automobile
6	Joint Underwriting Association appoints its general
7	manager as agent for service of process purposes;
8	providing a limitation relating to method of service of
9	process; providing an effective date.

11	Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

13	Section 1. Subsection (6) is added to section 627.311,
14	Florida Statutes, to read:
15	627.311 Joint underwriters and joint reinsurers.--
16	(6)(a) The Florida Automobile Joint Underwriting
17	Association created under this section shall be deemed to have
18	appointed its general manager as its agent to receive service of
19	all legal process issued against the association in any civil
20	action or proceeding in this state. Process so served shall be
21	valid and binding upon the insurer.
22	(b) Service of process upon the association’s general
23	manager as the association’s agent pursuant to such an
24	appointment shall be the sole method of service of process upon
25	the association.
26	Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
