1	House Resolution
2	A resolution recognizing the first week of December as
3	“Intergenerational Week” in Florida.

5	WHEREAS, the Bridge Legacy Project, founded by the Florida
6	106 Leadership Team of Summit Education, encourages mentoring
7	between seniors and youth, thereby fostering loving, nurturing,
8	and meaningful relationships among individuals of the two age
9	groups, and
10	WHEREAS, “Bridges” provides a means of interaction among
11	seniors and young people, including seniors in nursing care and
12	youth in foster care, that often corrects misconceptions and
13	leads to a better understanding by one generation of the other,
14	and
15	WHEREAS, in an effort to promote awareness of the mission
16	of the Bridge Legacy Project, the Florida 106 Leadership Team
17	will sponsor “Intergenerational Week” during the first week of
18	December, with activities geared toward encouraging public
19	support of the very worthy aims of this project, NOW, THEREFORE,
20
21	Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
22	Florida:

24	That the House of Representatives wholeheartedly recognizes
25	the first week of December as “Intergenerational Week” and
26	encourages all who work with seniors and youth to sponsor
27	activities aimed at promoting interaction and understanding
28	between the generations.
