  1              Senate Concurrent Resolution No. ____

  2         A concurrent resolution extending the 2003

  3         Special Session B of the Legislature under the

  4         authority of Article III, Section 3(d) of the

  5         State Constitution and providing for

  6         adjournment of the Special Session B of the

  7         Legislature for more than 72 hours in

  8         accordance with the provisions of Article III,

  9         Section 3(e) of the State Constitution.

11         WHEREAS, the four days of the 2003 Special Session B of

12  the Florida Legislature will expire on June 19, 2003, and the

13  necessary tasks of the special session have not been

14  completed, NOW, THEREFORE,

15  

16  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida, the

17  House of Representatives Concurring:

18  

19         That the 2003 Special Session B of the Florida

20  Legislature is extended to 11:59 p.m., Friday, June 27, 2003,

21  under the authority of Article III, Section 3(d) of the State

22  Constitution.

23         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the special session so

24  extended shall consider only the following matters:

25         (1)  Senate Bill 2-B and House Bill 63-B, which bills

26  address medical malpractice.

27         (2)  Senate Bills 4-B and 6-B and House Bill 71-B,

28  which bills address public records and public meetings

29  exemptions relating to medical malpractice.

30         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all other measures in

31  either house are hereby indefinitely postponed.

 1         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, upon adjournment or recess

 2  on Thursday, June 19, 2003, either house may reconvene upon

 3  the call of its presiding officer.

 4         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, in accordance with the

 5  provisions of Article III, Section 3(e) of the State

 6  Constitution, permission is hereby granted to the Senate and

 7  the House of Representatives to adjourn for a period in excess

 8  of seventy-two hours by motion of such chamber.
