1	A bill to be entitled
2	An act relating to education funding; providing
3	appropriations from the General Revenue Fund to the
4	Department of Education for unfunded student growth and
5	inflationary costs in the public schools, increased
6	student enrollment in community college programs, and
7	increased student enrollment in state universities;
8	providing an effective date.

10	Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12	Section 1. (1) It is the intent of the Legislature to use
13	a portion of the economic stimulus funds provided by the Federal
14	Government under section 401(b) of the Jobs and Growth Tax
15	Relief Reconciliation Act of 2003 for educational purposes.
16	(2) There is hereby appropriated from the General Revenue
17	Fund to the Department of Education for fiscal year 2003-2004
18	the following amounts:
19	(a) For unfunded student growth and inflationary costs in
20	the public schools, the sum of $82.5 million.
21	(b) For increased student enrollment in workforce
22	development and other programs in the community colleges, the
23	sum of $160 million.
24	(c) For increased student enrollment in the state
25	universities, the sum of $66 million.
26	Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
