1	House Joint Resolution
2	A joint resolution proposing the creation of Section 22 of
3	Article X of the State Constitution to provide for
4	parental notification of performance of an abortion on a
5	minor.

7	Be It Resolved by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
8
9	That the creation of Section 22 of Article X of the State
10	Constitution set forth below is agreed to and shall be submitted
11	to the electors of Florida for approval or rejection at the
12	general election to be held in November 2004:
13	ARTICLE X
14	MISCELLANEOUS
15	SECTION 22.  Parental notification of performance of an
16	abortion on a minor.--Notwithstanding the minor's right of
17	privacy provided in Section 23 of Article I, the legislature may
18	by general law require notification of a parent or guardian of a
19	minor prior to the performance of an abortion on the minor.
20	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the title and substance of the
21	amendment proposed herein shall appear on the ballot as follows:
22	PARENTAL NOTIFICATION OF ABORTION ON A MINOR
23	Proposes the creation of Section 22 of Article X of the
24	State Constitution to provide that the Legislature may,
25	notwithstanding the state constitutional right of privacy, enact
26	legislation requiring notification of a parent or guardian of a
27	minor prior to the performance of an abortion on the minor.
