| 3 | Amendment (with title amendment) | 
| 4 | Remove lines 79-80 and insert: | 
| 5 | Section 3.  (1)  Notwithstanding any other law, | 
| 6 | instructional personnel, as defined in s. 1012.01(2), Florida | 
| 7 | Statutes, employed by a developmental research school or the | 
| 8 | Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind are eligible for | 
| 9 | reemployment after retirement in the same manner as classroom | 
| 10 | teachers who are employed by the district school boards, as | 
| 11 | described in ss. 121.091(9)(b)3. and 238.181(2)(c), Florida | 
| 12 | Statutes. | 
| 13 | (2)  Instructional personnel, as defined in s. 1012.01(2), | 
| 14 | Florida Statutes, employed by a developmental research school | 
| 15 | and authorized by the school's director, or if the school has no | 
| 16 | director, by the school's principal, are eligible for the | 
| 17 | Deferred Retirement Option Program (DROP) beyond 60 months in | 
| 18 | the same manner as the instructional personnel who are employed | 
| 19 | by the district school boards and authorized by the district | 
| 20 | school superintendent, as described in s. 121.091(13), Florida | 
| 21 | Statutes. | 
| 22 | Section 4.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a law | 
| 23 | and sections 1 and 2 of this act shall apply retroactively to | 
| 24 | July 1, 2003. |
