| 9 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 10 |

| 11 | Section 1. Subsection (7) is added to section 316.008, |
| 12 | Florida Statutes, to read: |
| 13 | 316.008 Powers of local authorities.-- |
| 14 | (7) A county may require inspections of all motor vehicles |
| 15 | that have a seating capacity of 24 or more pupils and that are |
| 16 | regularly used in the county for the transportation of pupils to |
| 17 | or from school or school activities; however, the county's |
| 18 | requirement for inspection shall not apply to any vehicle that |
| 19 | is required to be inspected by state law, rule of a state |
| 20 | agency, or the district school board. |
| 21 | Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law. |
