18         Section 1.  Subsections (1), (6) and (7) of section
19  493.6105, Florida Statutes, are amended to read:
20         493.6105  Initial application for license.--
21         (1)  Each individual, partner, or principal officer in
22  a corporation, shall file with the department a complete
23  application accompanied by an application fee not to exceed
24  $60, except that the applicant for a Class "D" or Class "G"
25  license shall not be required to submit an application fee
26  except as provided in subsection (6). The application fee
27  shall not be refundable.
28         (a)  The application submitted by any individual,
29  partner, or corporate officer shall be approved by the
30  department prior to that individual, partner, or corporate
31  officer assuming his or her duties.

SENATE AMENDMENT Bill No. CS for CS for SB 1156 Amendment No. 4 Barcode 493790 1 (b) Individuals who invest in the ownership of a 2 licensed agency, but do not participate in, direct, or control 3 the operations of the agency shall not be required to file an 4 application. 5 (6) In addition to the requirements outlined in 6 subsection (3), an applicant for a Class "G" license shall; 7 (a) Satisfy minimum training criteria for firearms 8 established by rule of the department, which training criteria 9 shall include, but is not limited to, 28 hours of range and 10 classroom training taught and administered by a Class "K" 11 licensee; however, no more than 8 hours of such training shall 12 consist of range training. If the applicant can show proof 13 that he or she is an active law enforcement officer currently 14 certified under the Criminal Justice Standards and Training 15 Commission or has completed the training required for that 16 certification within the last 12 months, or if the applicant 17 submits one of the certificates specified in paragraph (7)(a), 18 the department may waive the foregoing firearms training 19 requirement. 20 (b) For each initial and renewal license, pay a 21 nonrefundable fee of $20 which shall be transferred monthly to 22 the Shooting Range Cleanup Trust Fund in the Department of 23 Environmental Protection. 24 (7) In addition to the requirements under subsection 25 (3), an applicant for a Class "K" license shall: 26 (a) Submit one of the following certificates: 27 1. The Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training 28 Commission Firearms Instructor's Certificate. 29 2. The National Rifle Association Police Firearms 30 Instructor's Certificate. 31 3. A Firearms Instructor's Certificate from a federal, 3 state, county, or municipal police academy in this state 4 recognized as such by the Criminal Justice Standards and 5 Training Commission or by the Department of Education. 6 (b) Pay the fee for and pass an examination 7 administered by the department which shall be based upon, but 8 is not necessarily limited to, a firearms instruction manual 9 provided by the department. 10 (c) For each initial and renewal license, pay an 11 additional nonrefundable fee of $50 which shall be transferred 12 monthly to the Shooting Range Cleanup Trust Fund in the 13 Department of Environmental Protection. 14 15 (Redesignate subsequent sections.) 16 17 18 ================ T I T L E A M E N D M E N T =============== 19 And the title is amended as follows: 20 On page 1, line 3, after the semicolon 21 22 insert: 23 amending s. 493.6105, F.S.; creating a fee for 24 the issuance or renewal of certain firearms 25 licenses; providing for the deposit of such 26 fees into the Shooting Range Cleanup Trust 27 Fund; 28 29 30 31 3 5:59 PM 03/02/04 s1156.nr.04
