                | 8 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: | 
              
                | 9 |  | 
              
                | 10 | Section 1.  Present subsections (9) and (10) of section | 
              
                | 11 | 760.22, Florida Statutes, are renumbered as subsections (10) and | 
              
                | 12 | (11), respectively, and a new subsection(9) is added to said | 
              
                | 13 | section, to read: | 
              
                | 14 | 760.22  Definitions.--As used in ss. 760.20-760.37, the | 
              
                | 15 | term: | 
              
                | 16 | (9)  "Source of income" means receipt of any federal, | 
              
                | 17 | state, or local assistance, including medical assistance or rent | 
              
                | 18 | supplements. | 
              
                | 19 | Section 2.  Subsections (1), (2), (3), (4), and (5) of | 
              
                | 20 | section 760.23, Florida Statutes, are amended to read: | 
              
                | 21 | 760.23  Discrimination in the sale or rental of housing and | 
              
                | 22 | other prohibited practices.-- | 
              
                | 23 | (1)  It is unlawful to refuse to sell or rent after the | 
              
                | 24 | making of a bona fide offer, to refuse to negotiate for the sale | 
              
                | 25 | or rental of, or otherwise to make unavailable or deny a | 
              
                | 26 | dwelling to any person because of race, color, national origin, | 
              
                | 27 | sex, handicap, familial status, orreligion, or source of | 
              
                | 28 | income. | 
              
                | 29 | (2)  It is unlawful to discriminate against any person in | 
              
                | 30 | the terms, conditions, or privileges of sale or rental of a | 
              
                | 31 | dwelling, or in the provision of services or facilities in | 
              
                | 32 | connection therewith, because of race, color, national origin, | 
              
                | 33 | sex, handicap, familial status, orreligion, or source of | 
              
                | 34 | income. | 
              
                | 35 | (3)  It is unlawful to make, print, or publish, or cause to | 
              
                | 36 | be made, printed, or published, any notice, statement, or | 
              
                | 37 | advertisement with respect to the sale or rental of a dwelling | 
              
                | 38 | that indicates any preference, limitation, or discrimination | 
              
                | 39 | based on race, color, national origin, sex, handicap, familial | 
              
                | 40 | status, orreligion, or source of incomeor an intention to make | 
              
                | 41 | any such preference, limitation, or discrimination. | 
              
                | 42 | (4)  It is unlawful to represent to any person because of | 
              
                | 43 | race, color, national origin, sex, handicap, familial status, or | 
              
                | 44 | religion, or source of incomethat any dwelling is not available | 
              
                | 45 | for inspection, sale, or rental when such dwelling is in fact so | 
              
                | 46 | available. | 
              
                | 47 | (5)  It is unlawful, for profit, to induce or attempt to | 
              
                | 48 | induce any person to sell or rent any dwelling by a | 
              
                | 49 | representation regarding the entry or prospective entry into the | 
              
                | 50 | neighborhood of a person or persons of a particular race, color, | 
              
                | 51 | national origin, sex, handicap, familial status, orreligion, or | 
              
                | 52 | source of income. | 
              
                | 53 | Section 3.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a law. |
