A bill to be entitled
2An act relating to the practice of surveying and mapping;
3requiring the Department of Business and Professional
4Regulation to reinstate and reissue certain licenses to
5practice surveying and mapping if specified circumstances
6and qualifications are met by the applicant; requiring
7that an application be submitted to the Board of
8Professional Surveyors and Mappers as prescribed by rule;
9providing for an application fee; providing for expiration
10of the act; providing an effective date.

12Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

14     Section 1.  (1)  The Department of Business and
15Professional Regulation shall reinstate and reissue the license
16by July 1, 2005, of each individual whose license to practice
17surveying and mapping under chapter 472, Florida Statutes, has
18become null if all of the following circumstances and
19qualifications are met:
20     (a)  The individual's license was scheduled to be renewed
21during the biennium period beginning in 2001.
22     (b)  The license of the individual was in good standing at
23the time of the beginning of the renewal cycle.
24     (c)  The individual properly petitioned the department for
25relief relating to the circumstances under which the license
26became null.
27     (d)  During the period that the license was null, the
28individual did not commit a felony, violate a practice act, or
29engage in unlicensed activity for which a penalty is imposed.
30     (2)  The individual must submit an application to the Board
31of Professional Surveyors and Mappers for reinstatement in a
32manner prescribed by rules of the board and pay the appropriate
33application fee in an amount equal to the fee currently imposed
34for initial licensure.
35     (3)  This act expires July 1, 2005.
36     Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
