  1                    Senate Resolution No. ____

  2         A resolution expressing gratitude and affection

  3         to all mothers.

  4  

  5         WHEREAS, Sunday, May 9, 2004, has been designated

  6  Mother's Day, and

  7         WHEREAS, the highest ideals and noblest principles of

  8  humanity find their most exemplary expression in the sacrifice

  9  and devotion of mothers, and

10         WHEREAS, mothers exemplify enduring courage and

11  conviction, charity without condescension, and emotion with

12  sanity, and

13         WHEREAS, mothers are characterized by unconditional

14  love for their offspring, are slow to lose patience, and serve

15  as the anchors that bond the family, and

16         WHEREAS, a mother's love is like a flame that is always

17  burning but intensifies each time a child is born, and

18         WHEREAS, a mother is a gift bestowed on man, never more

19  dear than when bringing forth life in the form of a child, and

20         WHEREAS, it is proper that the members and staff of the

21  Florida Senate recognize the immeasurable debt of gratitude

22  owed to all mothers for their strength, guidance,

23  understanding, and love, NOW, THEREFORE,

24  

25  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:

26  

27         That the members of the Senate do hereby express to

28  their own mothers and to all mothers, on behalf of the people

29  of the State of Florida, personal affection and heartfelt

30  gratitude.

 1         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be spread

 2  upon the Journal of the Senate as a tangible token of the love
