| 5 | Section 15. Study by the Office of Program Policy Analysis |
| 6 | and Government Accountability.--The Office of Program Policy |
| 7 | Analysis and Government Accountability shall conduct an |
| 8 | actuarially sound study regarding the effects of the provisions |
| 9 | of this act and those contained in chapter 2003-416, Laws of |
| 10 | Florida, on the rates charged for medical malpractice insurance. |
| 11 | The study shall analyze the effects of each provision |
| 12 | separately, as well as their total effect taken together. The |
| 13 | study shall be completed by the Office of Program Policy |
| 14 | Analysis and Government Accountability using three actuaries, |
| 15 | one selected by the director of the office from a list proposed |
| 16 | by the Florida Medical Association, one selected by the director |
| 17 | from a list proposed by the Florida Insurance Council, and one |
| 18 | selected by the director from a list proposed by the Academy of |
| 19 | Florida Trial Lawyers. The final report of the study shall be |
| 20 | issued on or before March 1, 2005, and provided to Speaker of |
| 21 | the House of Representatives and the President of the Senate. |
