| 4 | Remove lines 66-84 and insert: |
| 5 | catastrophically injured as defined in s. 121.091(4) in the |
| 6 | line of duty shall be considered totally and permanently |
| 7 | disabled and unable to render useful and efficient service as an |
| 8 | officer, unless the administrator can provide documented |
| 9 | competent medical evidence that the officer is able to render |
| 10 | useful and efficient service as an officer. For purposes of this |
| 11 | subsection, the term "officer" includes law enforcement |
| 12 | officers, correctional officers, and correctional probation |
| 13 | officers as defined in s. 943.10(1), (2), and (3) and |
| 14 | firefighters, emergency medical technicians, and paramedics. |
| 15 | Section 3. Effective July 1, 2004, in order to fund the |
| 16 | benefits provided in s. 121.091, Florida Statutes, as amended by |
| 17 | this act: |
| 18 | (1) The contribution rate that applies to the Special Risk |
| 19 | Class of the defined benefit program of the Florida Retirement |
| 20 | System shall be increased by 0.03 percentage points. |
| 21 | (2) The contribution rate that applies to the Special Risk |
| 22 | Administrative Support Class of the defined benefit program of |
| 23 | the Florida Retirement System shall be increased by 0.20 |
