| 10 | 409.819 Identification of low-income, uninsured children; |
| 11 | determination of eligibility for the Florida KidCare Kidcare |
| 12 | program; alternative health care information.--The Department of |
| 13 | Health shall develop a program, in conjunction with the |
| 14 | Department of Education, the Department of Children and Family |
| 15 | Services, the Agency for Health Care Administration, the Florida |
| 16 | Healthy Kids Corporation, local governments, employers, and |
| 17 | other stakeholders, to identify low-income, uninsured children |
| 18 | and, to the extent possible and subject to appropriation, refer |
| 19 | them to the Department of Children and Family Services for |
| 20 | eligibility determination and provide parents with information |
| 21 | about choices of health benefits coverage under the Florida |
| 22 | KidCare Kidcare program. These activities shall include, but not |
| 23 | be limited to,: training community providers in effective |
| 24 | methods of outreach; conducting public information campaigns |
| 25 | designed to publicize the Florida KidCare Kidcare program, the |
| 26 | eligibility requirements of the program, and the procedures for |
| 27 | enrollment in the program; and maintaining public awareness of |
| 28 | the Florida KidCare Kidcare program. Special emphasis shall be |
| 29 | placed on the identification of minority children, including, |
| 30 | but not limited to, Hispanic, Haitian, and African-American |
| 31 | children, for referral to and participation in the Florida |
| 32 | KidCare Kidcare program. |
