  1                      A bill to be entitled
  2         An act relating to enterprise zones; creating
  3         s. 290.00703, F.S.; authorizing the City of
  4         South Daytona to apply to the Office of
  5         Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development to
  6         designate an enterprise zone within an area of
  7         the City of South Daytona; authorizing the
  8         Office of Tourism, Trade, and Economic
  9         Development to designate one enterprise zone in
10         the City of South Daytona; providing
11         requirements with respect thereto; providing an
12         effective date.

14  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
15  
16         Section 1.  Section 290.00703, Florida Statutes, is
17  created to read:
18         290.00703  Enterprise zone designation for the City of
19  South Daytona.--The City of South Daytona may apply to the
20  Office of Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development for
21  designation of one enterprise zone within the city. The
22  application must be submitted by December 31, 2004, and must
23  comply with the requirements of s. 290.0055. Notwithstanding
24  the provisions of s. 290.0065 limiting the total number of
25  enterprise zones designated and the number of enterprise zones
26  within a population category, the Office of Tourism, Trade,
27  and Economic Development may designate one enterprise zone
28  under this section. The Office of Tourism, Trade, and Economic
29  Development shall establish the initial effective date of the
30  enterprise zone designated under this section.

 1         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming
 2  law.
