11  Senator Alexander moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
14         On page 24, between lines 18 and 19,
15  
16  insert:  
17         Section 9.  Effective July 1, 2005, section 215.31,
18  Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
19         215.31  State funds; deposit in State Treasury.--
20         (1)  Revenue, including licenses, fees, imposts, or
21  exactions collected or received under the authority of the
22  laws of the state by each and every state official, office,
23  employee, bureau, division, board, commission, institution,
24  agency, or undertaking of the state or the judicial branch
25  shall be promptly deposited in the State Treasury, and
26  immediately credited to the appropriate fund as herein
27  provided, properly accounted for by the Department of
28  Financial Services as to source and no money shall be paid
29  from the State Treasury except as appropriated and provided by
30  the annual General Appropriations Act, or as otherwise
31  provided by law.

Amendment No. ___ Barcode 350914 1 (2) Every state official, office, employee, bureau, 2 division, board, commission, institution, agency, or 3 undertaking of the state or the judicial branch which enters 4 into a settlement of an action or a claim brought on behalf of 5 the state against any person shall ensure that all funds 6 received or paid under the settlement are promptly deposited 7 into the State Treasury. However, funds designated in the 8 settlement for restitution to affected individuals shall be 9 promptly transmitted to the intended beneficiaries.
