1 A bill to be entitled
2          An act relating to mobile home parks; amending s.
3    723.0612, F.S.; revising provisions for payment by the
4    park owner to the Florida Mobile Home Relocation
5    Corporation when the mobile home owner chooses to abandon
6    the mobile home rather than relocate due to a change in
7    use of the mobile home park; providing an effective date.

9          Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
10         
11          Section 1. Subsection (7) of section 723.0612, Florida
12    Statutes, is amended to read:
13          723.0612 Change in use; relocation expenses; payments by
14    park owner.--
15          (7) In lieu of collecting payment from the Florida Mobile
16    Home Relocation Corporation as set forth in subsection (1), a
17    mobile home owner may abandon the mobile home in the mobile home
18    park and collect $1,375 for a single section and $2,750 for a
19    multisection from the corporation as long as the mobile home
20    owner delivers to the park owner the current title to the mobile
21    home duly endorsed by the owner of record and valid releases of
22    all liens shown on the title. If a mobile home owner chooses
23    this option, the park owner shall make payment to the
24    corporation in an amount equal to one-fourth of the maximum
25    allowable moving expenses.The mobile home owner's application
26    for funds under this subsection shall require the submission of
27    a document signed by the park owner stating that the home has
28    been abandoned under this subsection and that the park owner
29    agrees to make payment to the corporation in the amount provided
30    to the home owner under this subsection section. However, in the
31    event that the required documents are not submitted with the
32    application, the corporation may consider the facts and
33    circumstances surrounding the abandonment of the home to
34    determine whether the mobile home owner is entitled to payment
35    pursuant to this section.
36          Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
