17 insert:
18 Section 154. (1) The Department of Financial Services
19 shall, no later than November 1, 2004, notify the Department
20 of Business and Professional Regulation of its intention to
21 contract with the Department of Business and Professional
22 Regulation, another governmental agency, or a private business
23 for the implementation of a system for the administration of
24 the overall licensing process, including the processing and
25 tracking of applications for licensure, the issuance of
26 licenses approved by the board, the tracking of licenses
27 issued, the administration of the license renewal process, and
28 the collection and processing of fees relating to those
29 activities. If the Department of Financial Services elects to
30 contract with the Department of Business and Professional
31 Regulation for the services described in this subsection, they

1 shall enter into a contract no later than February 1, 2005, to
2 become effective upon the effective date of this act. If the
3 Department of Financial Services elects not to contract with
4 the Department of Business and Professional Regulation for
5 those services, the Department of Financial Services shall
6 begin working with the Department of Business and Professional
7 Regulation no later than February 1, 2005, for the conversion
8 of those services, which conversion is to be completed before
9 September 1, 2005.
10 (2) The Department of Financial Services shall, no
11 later than November 1, 2004, notify the Department of Business
12 and Professional Regulation of its intention to contract with
13 the Department of Business and Professional Regulation for the
14 development, preparation, administration, scoring, score
15 reporting, and evaluation of all examinations. If the
16 Department of Financial Services elects to contract with the
17 Department of Business and Professional Regulation for the
18 services described in this subsection, they shall enter into a
19 contract no later than February 1, 2005, to become effective
20 upon the effective date of this act. If the Department of
21 Financial Services elects not to contract with the Department
22 of Business and Professional Regulation for those services,
23 the Department of Financial Services shall begin working with
24 the Department of Business and Professional Regulation no
25 later than February 1, 2005, for the conversion of those
26 services, which conversion is to be completed before September
27 1, 2005.
28 (3) The Department of Financial Services shall, no

3 services. If the Department of Financial Services elects to
4 contract with the Department of Business and Professional
5 Regulation for the services described in this subsection, they
6 shall enter into a contract no later than February 1, 2005, to
7 become effective upon the effective date of this act. If the
8 Department of Financial Services elects not to contract with
9 the Department of Business and Professional Regulation for
10 those services, the Department of Financial Services shall
11 begin working with the Department of Business and Professional
12 Regulation no later than February 1, 2005, for the conversion
13 of those services, which conversion is to be completed before
14 September 1, 2005.
15 (4) No later than July 1, 2005, the Department of
16 Financial Services shall begin to consult at least biweekly
17 with prosecuting attorneys and investigators of the Department
18 of Business and Professional Regulation to ensure the
19 transition of pending disciplinary matters.
