1	A bill to be entitled
2	An act relating to the Florida Building Code; specifying
3	legislative approval of certain recommendations of the
4	Florida Building Commission relating to certain provisions
5	of the Florida Building Code; requiring the commission to
6	adopt certain provisions as part of the Florida Building
7	Code; providing legislative findings; exempting the
8	adoption of such provisions from certain requirements of
9	law or commission rules; providing an effective date.

11	Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

13	Section 1. The Legislature has reviewed the Florida
14	Building Commission's recommendations for Florida Building Code
15	provisions applicable to existing buildings that were submitted
16	with the commission's 2002 report. The Legislature approves such
17	recommendations, and the Florida Building Commission is directed
18	to adopt such provisions, as amended through the workshop and
19	adoption hearing process, as part of the Florida Building Code
20	pursuant to s. 120.54, Florida Statutes. The Legislature finds
21	that application of such provisions provides a benefit to the
22	citizens of this state and that adoption and implementation of
23	such provisions should not be delayed any more than required by
24	rulemaking procedures; therefore, initial adoption of such
25	provisions shall not be subject to the requirements of ss.
26	553.73 and 553.77, Florida Statutes, or rules of the commission
27	as those rules or provisions of law relate to Florida Building
28	Code amendments, modifications, or updates.
29	Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
