| 5 | WHEREAS, the Ocala Blaze, an Amateur Athletic Union league | ||
| 6 | baseball team of 10-year-old neighborhood kids from various | ||
| 7 | parks throughout Ocala, capped a week of heavy competition at | ||
| 8 | Iowa's Des Moines Beaverdale Complex by walking away with the | ||
| 9 | Division I national championship, and | ||
| 10 | WHEREAS, in a stunning display of teamwork, sportsmanship, | ||
| 11 | and hard play, the 13 members of Ocala Blaze compiled a 7-2 | ||
| 12 | record as they outscored their opponents 62-15 over the 9-game | ||
| 13 | span, and | ||
| 14 | WHEREAS, not unaccustomed to victory, the Ocala Blaze, | ||
| 15 | since winning the 2002 Amateur Athletic Union Fall Brawl | ||
| 16 | championship title, has amassed an impressive list of | ||
| 17 | accomplishments, including its latest award, the 2003 AAU Team | ||
| 18 | Sportsmanship Award/National Tournament, and | ||
| 19 | WHEREAS, sporting smiles matched only by those on the faces | ||
| 20 | of their parents and coaches, the Division I national champions | ||
| 21 | are Josh Grisham, Alex Carrasco, A.J. Mazzurco, Michael | ||
| 22 | Sullivan, Michael Ramsey, Brandon Bonilla, Sean Plunkett, Lance | ||
| 23 | Roberts, Zack Espenship, Andrew McNett, Michael Stickley, | ||
| 24 | Christian Ryan, and Trent Meyers, NOW, THEREFORE, | ||

| 26 | Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of | ||

| 29 | That the members of the Ocala Blaze baseball team, along | ||
| 30 | with Manager Chris Ramsey and Coaches Ivan Bonilla, Michael | ||
| 31 | Mazzurco, and Brent McNett, are recognized with great admiration | ||
| 32 | and pride and are congratulated upon their having earned the | ||
| 33 | 2003 Amateur Athletic Union national championship title. | ||
| 34 | BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be | ||
| 35 | presented to each member of the Ocala Blaze, their manager, and | ||
| 36 | their coaches as a tangible token of the sentiments expressed | ||
| 37 | herein. | ||
