1	House Resolution
2	A resolution congratulating the East Gadsden High School
3	JROTC Drill Team.

5	WHEREAS, on March 13, 2004, competing for the first time
6	in the Florida State Drill Team and Color Guard Meet, the East
7	Gadsden High School JROTC Drill Team came away with the State
8	Championship, winning first place in the Male Armed Squad
9	Exhibition and tying for first place in the Female Unarmed
10	Squad Regulation, and
11	WHEREAS, in a further show of excellence by these
12	outstanding cadets, the team placed third in the Male Unarmed
13	Platoon Regulation, fourth in the Male Armed Squad Regulation,
14	and fifth in the Male Armed Platoon Regulation, and
15	WHEREAS, with more than 80 schools represented at the meet
16	and no fewer than 27 schools taking part in each event, the East
17	Gadsden JROTC Drill Team competed against the top drill teams in
18	the state, several of which participate in the National Level
19	Competition each year, and
20	WHEREAS, in addition to competing for the first time at the
21	state level and bringing home the school's first state
22	championship, the drill team became eligible for consideration
23	to contend in the National Level Competition in 2005, and
24	WHEREAS, the drill team is trained under the direction of
25	Master Sergeant Jerome A. Kerrison for Regulation Drill and
26	Sergeant First Class Michael Williams for Exhibition Drill, both
27	of whom credit the team members with outstanding performances,
28	NOW, THEREFORE,

30	Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
31	Florida:

33	That the Members of the House of Representatives proudly
34	recognize the East Gadsden High School JROTC Drill Team for a
35	sterling performance in its first-ever Florida State Drill Team
36	and Color Guard Meet, extend hearty congratulations to the team
37	upon its winning the title of JROTC Drill Team State Champions,
38	and offer their sincere wishes for continuing success in the
39	coming years.
40	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
41	presented to the East Gadsden High School Championship JROTC
42	Drill Team as a tangible token of the sentiments expressed
43	herein.
