  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to discount medical plan

  3         organizations; delaying the date by which such

  4         an organization or marketer must comply with

  5         the requirements of part II of ch. 636, F.S.,

  6         relating to the licensure and regulation of

  7         discount medical plan organizations; providing

  8         an effective date.

10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11  

12         Section 1.  Notwithstanding the effective date of

13  January 1, 2005, specified in section 31 of chapter 2004-297,

14  Laws of Florida, a person who does business as a discount

15  medical plan organization or who markets a discount medical

16  plan is not subject to the requirements of part II of chapter

17  636, Florida Statutes, until March 31, 2005.

18         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

19  law.
