| 4 | from a public school; providing a definition; requiring a | 
| 5 | person to present picture identification before retrieving | 
| 6 | a child from a nonpublic school or certain child care | 
| 7 | facilities; providing a definition; providing an effective | 
| 8 | date. |

| 10 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: | 
| 11 | 
 | 
| 12 | Section 1.  In addition to any other requirements imposed | 
| 13 | by school districts, a person must present picture | 
| 14 | identification to the school principal or his or her designee | 
| 15 | before retrieving a student from any public school in this | 
| 16 | state. As used in this section, the term "picture | 
| 17 | identification" means a valid state driver's license, a valid | 
| 18 | state identification card, or a valid United States military | 
| 19 | identification card. | 
| 20 | Section 2.  In addition to any other requirements imposed | 
| 21 | by a nonpublic school exempt from licensure under s. 402.3025, | 
| 22 | Florida Statutes, a child care facility licensed under s. | 
| 23 | 402.305, Florida Statutes, a family day care home licensed under | 
| 24 | s. 402.313, Florida Statutes, a large family child care home | 
| 25 | licensed under s. 402.3131, Florida Statutes, or a faith-based | 
| 26 | child care provider exempt from licensure under s. 402.316, | 
| 27 | Florida Statutes, a person must present picture identification | 
| 28 | to the appropriate school or child care official or his or her | 
| 29 | designee before retrieving a child from any of these facilities. | 
| 30 | As used in this section, the term "picture identification" means | 
| 31 | a valid state driver's license, a valid state identification | 
| 32 | card, or a valid United States military identification card. | 
| 33 | Section 3.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2005. |
