  1                    Senate Resolution No. ____

  2         A resolution recognizing the accomplishments of

  3         Middleton High School Football Coach Harry

  4         Hubbard.

  5  

  6         WHEREAS, Harry Hubbard has coached the Middleton High

  7  School Football Team for 3 years and in that time has

  8  developed the team to become a winning force in Florida high

  9  school football, and

10         WHEREAS, before coming to Middleton, Coach Hubbard was

11  Assistant Head Coach for 4 years at Plant City High School,

12  and for 11 years at Jefferson High School, with earlier

13  coaching-related experience in Texas, and

14         WHEREAS, Coach Hubbard's skills, dedication, and

15  indomitable energy have earned him this year's Hillsborough

16  County Coach of the Year award, and

17         WHEREAS, this award, the "Billy Turner Coach of the

18  Year Award," is named for one of the most respected football

19  coaches in Hillsborough County history and is based on a vote

20  by peers, the media, and board members of the National

21  Football Foundation, and

22         WHEREAS, Coach Hubbard was honored at this year's

23  National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame luncheon after

24  bringing his team to regional victory in only its second

25  varsity season despite his own battle with prostate cancer,

26  NOW, THEREFORE,

28  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:

29  

30         That the Senate applauds the talent, dedication, and

31  professionalism of Coach Harry Hubbard and congratulates him

 3         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution,

 4  with the Seal of the Senate affixed, be presented to Coach

 5  Harry Hubbard as a token of the sentiments of the Florida

 6  Senate.
