11  The Committee on Criminal Justice (Crist) recommended the
12  following amendment:
13  
14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         On page 2, lines 1-15, delete those lines
16  
17  and insert:  
18         (a)  For purposes of this subsection, the term "gives
19  false information" includes knowingly and willfully claiming
20  homestead exemption on a home that has been paid for by the
21  claimant, in whole or in part, with funds obtained by the
22  unlawful commission of a fraudulent act.
23         1.  If the assessed value of the homestead is at least
24  $200,000 but less than 500,000, a violation of this paragraph
25  is a felony of the third degree;
26         2.  If the assessed value of the homestead is at least
27  $500,000 but less than $1.5 million, a violation of this
28  paragraph is a felony of the second degree; or
29         3.  If the assessed value of the homestead is at least
30  $1.5 million, a violation of this paragraph is a felony of the
31  first degree;
