| 5 | (7)  An elector's signature on a petition form may be | 
| 6 | revoked by submitting to the supervisor a signed petition | 
| 7 | revocation form in a form and manner prescribed by rule by the | 
| 8 | division. The petition revocation form shall be subject to the | 
| 9 | same requirements as the corresponding petition form under this | 
| 10 | code. The petition revocation form shall be filed with the | 
| 11 | appropriate supervisor of elections no later than the January 30 | 
| 12 | preceding the next general election or, if the initiative | 
| 13 | amendment is not certified for ballot position in that election, | 
| 14 | no later than the January 30 preceding the next successive | 
| 15 | general election. The supervisor of elections shall promptly | 
| 16 | verify the signature on the petition revocation form and process | 
| 17 | such revocation upon payment of a fee, in advance, of 10 cents | 
| 18 | or the actual cost of checking such signature, whichever is |
