DELETE INSERT AGENCY FOR HEALTH CARE ADMINISTRATION Program: Health Care Services Medicaid Services To Individuals In Section 03 On Page 056 204 Special Categories Prescribed Medicine/Drugs Delete the fourth paragraph of existing proviso language, following Specific Appropriation 204: Funds in Specific Appropriation 204 reflect a reduction of $11,951,226 from the General Revenue Fund and $17,127,183 from the Medical Care Trust Fund as a result of reducing Medicaid pharmacy ingredient prices. and insert in lieu thereof: Funds in Specific Appropriation 204 reflect a reduction of $11,951,226 from the General Revenue Fund and $17,127,183 from the Medical Care Trust Fund as a result of the agency adopting provisions requiring recipients of prescribed pharmaceuticals to share the cost of those990243 Log:0019 STM/RYA 04/06/05 09:57:16 PM House Page: 1 pharmaceuticals by requiring recipients to pay a nominal co-payment upon receipt of each prescription medication. A provider shall not refuse to provide a recipient a service if the recipient is unable to pay a required co-payment; however, this provision shall not relieve a recipient of an obligation to pay a co-payment or prevent a provider from attempting to collect a co-payment. If it is the routine business practice of a provider to refuse service to an individual with uncollected debt, the provider may include uncollected co-payments under this practice. A provider shall give advanced notice to a recipient with uncollected debt before services can be terminated. A provider shall not waive a co-payment obligation as imposed by the department for a recipient.
Line item amendments are accepted as part of the amendatory process. However, due to the necessity of using computerized systems this may entail a different placement within a budget entity or the renumbering of the specific appropriation items.
