| 4 | Between lines 1799 and 1800, insert: |
| 5 | Section 12. An annual fee of $150 per slot machine is |
| 6 | hereby imposed upon each slot machine approved for use at any |
| 7 | slot machine licensee as defined in section 551.103, Florida |
| 8 | Statutes, which is within 1 mile of any neighboring |
| 9 | municipality. A "neighboring municipality" is defined as a |
| 10 | municipality that does not have a slot machine licensee but has |
| 11 | more than two slot machine licensees located within 1 mile of |
| 12 | its municipal borders. Revenue from the fees imposed by this |
| 13 | section must be used by the neighboring municipality to fund the |
| 14 | adverse public health, safety, and welfare and public works and |
| 15 | traffic impacts that will be caused by the implementation of |
| 16 | Section 23, Article X of the State Constitution and that will |
| 17 | occur as a direct result of slot machine operation. The annual |
| 18 | fee must be remitted to the Department of Business and |
| 19 | Professional Regulation to be deposited into the Slot Machine |
| 20 | Administrative Trust Fund and distributed by the department to |
| 21 | any neighboring municipality. The fee must be remitted by |
| 22 | February 1 of each year based on the number of slot machines |
| 23 | approved as of January 1. |
