| 10 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 11 |

| 12 | Section 1. Section 98.485, Florida Statutes, is created to |
| 13 | read: |
| 14 | 98.485 Election dates.--The supervisor of elections in |
| 15 | each county shall submit to the respective district school board |
| 16 | a calendar of election dates. Based on the submission of such |
| 17 | information, each district school board shall set its teacher |
| 18 | planning days to coincide with election dates and make its |
| 19 | schools available as polling places. The supervisor of elections |
| 20 | shall coordinate with the district school board to ensure that |
| 21 | the district school board is notified in a timely manner for |
| 22 | purposes of planning for the school year. |
| 23 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2005. |
