11  The Committee on Regulated Industries (Aronberg) recommended
12  the following amendment:

14         Senate Amendment 
15         On page 1., lines 16-22, delete those lines
16  
17  and insert:  
18         Section 1.  Paragraphs (a) and (b) of subsection (2) of
19  section 472.013, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
20         472.013  Examinations, prerequisites.--
21         (2)  An applicant shall be entitled to take the
22  licensure examination to practice in this state as a surveyor
23  and mapper if the applicant is of good moral character and has
24  satisfied one of the following requirements:
25         (a)  The applicant received a degree in surveying and
26  mapping of four (4) years or more is a graduate of an approved
27  course of study in a surveying and mapping degree program from
28  a college or university recognized by the board and has a
29  specific experience record of 4 or more years as a subordinate
30  to a professional surveyor and mapper in the active practice
31  of surveying and mapping, which experience is of a nature

 1  indicating that the applicant was in responsible charge of the
 2  accuracy and correctness of the surveying and mapping work
 3  performed. The completed surveying and mapping degree of four
 4  (4) years or more course of study in a surveying and mapping
 5  degree program must have included not fewer than 32 semester
 6  hours of study, or its academic equivalent, in the science of
 7  surveying and mapping or in board-approved
 8  surveying-and-mapping-related courses. Work experience
 9  acquired as a part of the education requirement shall not be
10  construed as experience in responsible charge.
