  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to enterprise zones;

  3         authorizing the governing body of the

  4         consolidated government of the City of

  5         Jacksonville, Duval County, to the Office of

  6         Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development to

  7         amend an enterprise zone boundary to include a

  8         specific census tract; requires the office to

  9         approve the application under certain

10         circumstances; providing requirements;

11         providing an effective date.

13  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

14  

15         Section 1.  Notwithstanding any other provision of law,

16  the governing body of the consolidated government of the City

17  of Jacksonville, Duval County, may apply to the Office of

18  Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development to amend the boundary

19  of Florida Enterprise Zone #1601 to include Census Tract #1,

20  Block Groups 1 and 2. The office shall approve the application

21  so long as the boundary amendment is consistent with the

22  categories, criteria, and limitations imposed by section

23  290.0055, Florida Statutes, upon the establishment of such

24  enterprise zone. The office shall approve the amendment

25  provided the application is submitted before December 31,

26  2005, and meets the requirements of this section.

27         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

28  law.
