| 8 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 9 |

| 10 | Section 1. This act shall be known by the popular name the |
| 11 | "Dori Slosberg Safety Belt Law." |
| 12 | Section 2. Subsection (8) of section 316.614, Florida |
| 13 | Statutes, is amended to read: |
| 14 | 316.614 Safety belt usage.-- |
| 15 | (8) Any person who violates the provisions of this section |
| 16 | commits a nonmoving violation, punishable as provided in chapter |
| 17 | 318. However, except for violations of s. 316.613, enforcement |
| 18 | of this section by state or local law enforcement agencies must |
| 19 | be accomplished only as a secondary action when a driver of a |
| 20 | motor vehicle has been detained for a suspected violation of |
| 21 | another section of this chapter, chapter 320, or chapter 322. |
| 22 | Section 3. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law. |
