4     Remove line 32 and insert:
5     Section 2.  Effective July 1, 2007, paragraph (f) of
6subsection (3) of section 489.537, Florida Statutes, is amended
7to read:
8     489.537  Application of this part.--
9     (3)  Nothing in this act limits the power of a municipality
10or county:
11     (f)  To require that one electrical journeyman, who has
12obtained a certificate of competency from a registered
13apprenticeship program prior to 2002 is a graduate of the
14Institute of Applied Technology in Construction Excellence or a
15license licensed pursuant to s. 489.5335, be present on any
16nonresidential an industrial or commercial new construction site
17with a facility of 15,000 50,000 gross square feet or more when
18electrical work in excess of 98 77 volts is being performed in
19order to supervise or perform such work, except as provided in
20s. 489.503. This paragraph does not apply to single-family
21residential construction or any commercial residential
22construction that is three stories or fewer. Any person licensed
23as an electrical journeyman electrician in this state prior to
242002 and whose license has expired shall have his or her
25journeyman certificate reinstated without retesting. The local
26building official shall issue a 30-day temporary waiver for this
27electrical journeyman requirement for the purposes of issuing a
28permit, if proof is provided that no electrical journeyman is
29available for employment on the construction site.
30     Section 3.  Except as otherwise provided herein, this act
31shall take effect October 1, 2005.
