| 8 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 9 |
|
| 10 | Section 1. Subsection (7) is added to section 448.24, |
| 11 | Florida Statutes, to read: |
| 12 | 448.24 Duties and rights.-- |
| 13 | (7) Nothing in this section shall preclude the labor pool |
| 14 | from providing a day laborer with a method of obtaining cash |
| 15 | from a cash dispensing machine operated by the labor pool, or by |
| 16 | an affiliate, for a fee per transaction not to exceed $2, |
| 17 | provided: |
| 18 | (a) The labor pool offers payment in compliance with the |
| 19 | provisions of paragraph (2)(a) in the form of commonly accepted |
| 20 | negotiable instruments that are payable in cash, on demand at a |
| 21 | financial institution, and without discount. |
| 22 | (b) The day laborer voluntarily elects to accept payment |
| 23 | in cash after disclosure of the fee. |
| 24 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2005. |
